Background
Story
After he awoke from his 210 year long slumber, Joey stumbled his way out of the vault, all while barley concious. Upon his ascent he came face to face with Autumn Valentine, a woman from Diamond City. She had been visiting Sanctuary Hills for a story Piper Wright was writing about Vaults. Were they still inhabited? Had the ones here ever been? She had her answers now. Joey walked up to Autumn, the both of them dumbfounded, and he promptly collapsed into her arms. He wouldn't wake up for 3 days.
He layed resting on a couch inside his old home as Autumn left to Concord to find help, watched closley by a perplexed and emotional Codsworth. Autumn ended up finding help in the Minutemen, a group she would soon join and lead.
The Minutemen gave him all the medical help they could manage with their lack of supplies and with Joey being unresponsive in his sleep. After he awoke, the true extent of his condition was revealed. He was malnourished and suffering from extreme joint pain, he didn'1t have the strength to even lift himself out of bed.
With Autumn there, the easiest course of action would be for her to take him back home with her to Diamond City. Though Joey couldn't even walk, so getting him to another city was out of the question for a long time. But after a few weeks of recovery, his strength returned, and he regained use of his legs. Minimal, but enough to get him someplace his condition could be truly assessed. Joey, Autumn, Preston Garvey, and Dogmeat departed from Sanctuary, headed for the Great Green Gem of The Commonwealth. Preston couldn't stay the entire trip, turning around about half way to Diamond City to return to Sanctuary.

Rad Runner
- Joey's trusty baseball bat. Started out as a normal metal bat he had in a locked up collection from before the war, and he gradually modified it more and more to suit his combat needs.
- He uses this the most, and it means alot to him as it gives him some grounded connection to his old life.
.44 Revolver
- Named "Balls.inc" in my Fo4 save, it is not named that in the story, just a normal revolver basically.
- Mods: Hardened receiver, snubnose barrel, comfort grip, reflex sight. Deals 60 damage, has a range of 84, and an accuracy of 72.

- Part of Joey's baseball collection. He's collected these signatures since he was a child, ranging from his parents, to old coaches, to his favorite players.

Outfit
Joey's outfit comes from a mod I found (Femshepping's Wasteland Drifter Outfits). The way I draw it is different from how it looks in the mod, but theyre quite similar. Here are some aspects about it.
Welding Goggles
- Joey does alot of construction work in Sanctuary, so he carries these around on his neck for convinence.
Tool Belt
- Basically the same reason he carries the welding goggles.
- He carries a screwdriver, pliers, pocket knife, wrench, and a hammer in the pockets, and a roll of ductape around the belt.
- He also carries misc items in his pockets such as a notepad, a walkie talkie, snacks + medx/stimpacks, and weapon repair gear. He also carries robot repair gear for Codsworth, including oil to fix his joints when they get stuck.
Black Denim Vest
- It was once a jacket, but he ripped the sleeves off. So now its a vest.
- It has two front breast pockets, and a large collar that I never draw. So the collar is optional, I consider it canon still because its cute.
Glasses
- He is so nearsighted, his glasses make his eyes look tiny.
